Another man is going to have their life turned around after they scooped a major payout from the Millionaire for Life lottery game in Iowa.

The winner, one Doug Dearborn , 61 , of Lohrville, has stepped forward to claim the prize he won during Friday’s drawing, amounting to $2.2 million – the second-highest available prize.

He could have gone with the $100,000 option for life , but the man decided to claim the lump sum and make the most out of the money right now . Dearborn was able to match the five numbers of the game, missing the extra one that would have yielded an even grander prize.

No bother, however, as Dearborn was mighty satisfied with his lot, and described the moment he realized he had won . “I looked at my ticket and went ‘WOO!,’” he recalled, making people at the store stare at him.

Dearborn won with 14, 16, 21, 43, and 51, but didn’t quite match the Millionaire Ball 3. Dearborn has decided to go with the lump sum at a time when a recent lottery winner from Canada chose a CAD 1,000 weekly payment over the lump sum payout of CAD 1 million.
